Call for Texts! Cartel Study Day on Jacques-Alain Miller’s Analysis Laid Bare
The London Society of the New Lacanian School is pleased to announce that our programme for 2024-25 will open with a Cartel Study Day entirely dedicated to Jacques-Alain Miller’s rich and orienting text, Analysis Laid Bare (L’os d’une cure). This will take place on the 19th of October 2024 and will be a hybrid event, on Zoom and in person in London. For this event, we are thrilled to welcome Neus Carbonell, current NLS Cartel Delegate, member of the Escuela Lacaniana de Psicoanálisis (ELP, Spain), the NLS, and the World Association of Psychoanalysis (WAP).
If you have worked on the many clinical and theoretical lessons that can be extracted from Analysis Laid Bare in a cartel (whether it has finished or is ongoing), we invite you to submit a cartel product of no more than 3 pages (6,000 characters including spaces) to this email address – [email protected] – by Friday the 27th of September. We are particularly interested to see what your singular trait of work has brought to your reading of Miller’s text, but also, vice versa, the ways in which encountering Analysis Laid Bare has shaped your cartel experience and work. You will be informed if your submitted text has been selected by Friday 4th of October. Submitting a text implies that you will be available to present your work on Saturday the 19th of October, ideally in person, though presenting remotely is also a possibility.
We very much look forward to considering your submissions.
Colin Wright (LS-NLS Cartel Delegate) and the Bureau of the LS-NLS
The cartel constitutes one of the three pillars of analytic training, along with personal analysis and supervision. Jacques Lacan proposed the cartel formula in his School as the basic organ for the elaboration of new knowledge.
Anyone interested in psychoanalysis can work in a cartel; which must have “at least three people, five at most, four being the right balance, plus-One…. ” [1]
